More information

This painting shows a view from the southern side aisle through the nave to the northern side aisle. Left in the background is the Masons’ Chapel with a painting by Johannes Woutersz van der Tijdt dating from 1641. In his career, De Lorme painted the Laurens Church in Rotterdam on countless occasions. Balthasar de Monconys, who visited him in 1663, suggested that De Lorme painted exclusively views in the Laurens Church, but did this superbly.
