Nuyen has successfully captured the Dutch water landscape with a surprisingly light and pure colour palette and loose brushwork. Nuyen exercised a great influence on a new
generation of artists including Johannes Bosboom and Charles Rochussen with these paintings inspired by the French Romantic style.
