Mercenaries and Turks

The museum’s Print Room exhibited two extraordinary series of coloured woodcuts from the German renaissance.

The collection of prints was part of a recovered treasure that was missing for fifty years. One series showed Swiss and German mercenaries in colourful clothing. The other series was of great cultural-historical value and shows Turkish soldiers on horses and camels.
