Open Day Depot 2024

Come visit us at the free Open Day of the Depot of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen on Saturday September 21. Wander the zigzagging stairs of the iconic work building, and enjoy art and performances spread over six floors.

We have a wonderful program with all kinds of activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Hundreds of works of art from the museum collection are on display throughout the building and in exhibition spaces, about which special tour guides - depot guides - can tell you everything. There is an educational program for children. There is also a festive musical program.

This is what you can do

  • Take a tour with a depot guide and learn/hear all about the building and its architecture.
  • Learn how to pack art from professional Art Handlers.
  • Create your own Depot collection cabinet.
  • Get an exclusive look at the collection of prints and drawings.
  • Listen to a discussion of a special book about the museum building.
  • Favorites from the collection are on display in three rooms, from the Room of Mirrors to the Tower of Babel.
  • Walk into the Belvédère story house and listen to storytellers or view the new harvest “Harvest 2024”.
  • In the Lievelingen exhibition you may be surprised by a harp concerto by Ranie Ribeiro.
  • On the roof terrace you can go on a speed date with a sweetheart while enjoying a cup of coffee with a view of the city.
  • The successful Kunst4Kids is back where children can choose a work of art themselves.

*All activities are free to attend at any time of the day
