Intervention #22 Tanja Smeets - Domestic Strangers

From February Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen is showing four installations by Tanja Smeets (1963) in which she combines everyday materials with ceramics.

The four Clover Leaf galleries at the heart of the museum hosted large organic structures made from, for example, stacked red coffee cups and an assemblage of Chinese spoons. A white structure made from thousands of plastic elements spread beyond one of the galleries and entered into a dialogue with the museum’s architecture. Tanja Smeets conceived the four installations during her residency at the European Ceramics Work Centre in Den Bosch.
