Peter Fischli

Zürich 1952

Peter Fischli and David Weiss, often shortened to Fischli/Weiss, have been working together since 1979. In their work they present objects and situations from everyday life in an artistic context. For example, the Sausage Series from 1979, one of their first works, uses photographs of sausages and refers to traditional still life art. They have also made countless photographs of tourist attractions and airports. With these, the artists explore themes such as mass media and the autonomy of art.
