Requirements loan request
The loan request should at least include the following components:
- A synopsis of the exhibition and an explanation of why the works are important to the exhibition
- Exhibition dates and location(s)
- A final list of the requested works, including inventory numbers (available via Collection Boijmans Online)
- Contact details of the loan applicant
- The museum’s facility report, preferably in accordance with the AAM (American Alliance of Museums) model
- Climate data of the room in which the work will be exhibited, from a period comparable to the loan period
The application should be addressed to the Director, Ms Ina Klaassen. Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen prefers fully digital loan correspondence. The application can be emailed to the Loans Office at loans@boijmans.nl.
Upon receipt of the loan request, you will receive an acknowledgment of receipt. The assessment of the request then takes approximately 4 months. If the object is unavailable, too vulnerable, or if the request does not meet the requirements, the application may be rejected. You will be informed as soon as possible. If the request is approved, you will receive an overview of the loan costs and the conditions under which the work can be lent as soon as possible. Upon agreement by the borrower, the Loans Office will draw up a loan agreement.
