May Belfort - actually May Egan - was an Irish singer who made a career in the Parisian cabarets. Dressed in baby clothes and carrying a black kitten, she sang a salacious repertoire. Lautrec became fascinated with her. In this poster, which he made for her show at the Petit Casino, he shows her performing a favourite song 'Daddy Wouldn't Buy Me a Bow-Wow'.
