The bust in the niche was previously identified as Ceres, goddess of agriculture, as well as the mother goddess Cybele. But she is probably Flora, goddess of flowers. Seghers, a pupil of Jan Brueghel, specialized in painting flowers. He left the stone sculpture and the cartouche around the niche to Bosschaert.
