Donate a work of art

Donate an artwork in your possession to the museum.

A very important part of the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen has been
created through generous private individuals. Are you considering
donating a work of
art in your possession
to Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen? Please feel free to
contact us.

Before an object is included in the collection, it is carefully considered whether it fits
the museum. We are happy to advise you on the ways in which you can donate art to

the museum.

How do I list items?

Send an email to info@boijmans.nl with the following information about the object:

  • Object information: artist, material, technique, title, year, dimensions
  • Photographs of the front and rear of the property
  • Information on the origin
  • State of the work
  • The relationship with the collection of Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen

What happens next?

Your offer will be discussed at the curators' meeting. Every six weeks, the collected offers are discussed. The museum will then contact you.

What is the value?

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen does not comment on the value of artworks and other objects. For this, you can consult an auction house or valuer.

Who made it?

If you are looking for information about a work of art or would like to submit a request for attribution, please contact the RKD, Netherlands Institute for Art History. Here you can also conduct your own research into art objects.

Zodiaque Circle

The Zodiaque Circle is named after the patrons who supported Salvador Dalí at the
time. This society honors private donors who have donated one or more objects to

Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen or have p
rovided them on long-term loan.
Members receive the Zodiaque card, granting them lifetime free access. Each year,

we organize a special gathering for the members. Currently, the Zodiaque Circle has

over 990 active members.
