Ask anything

  • Yuliya asked

Why it wrapped in plastic folie now?

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Hi Yuliya, The sculpture is wrapped in plastic because a recent examination brought to light that there are some small woodworm holes in the wood. It is unclear if the worms are still there. To prevent eventual larvae from spreading the sculpture is in plastic. It is monitored regularly. Did you download the depot app when you were in the depot? You could have found this information by scanning the QR at the display case and reading Saint Barbara's story. Kind regards, Els
