| Watermark | cockatrice (a two-legged dragon with a rooster's head and legs) holding a small shield with the Basle crozier, a small housemark CH or CR and a trefoil hanging below (82x56mm, between P2-4 from the top, in the centre; vH, 6P, cropped folio), similar to Briquet 1389 (Basle make, doc. Beuggen 1596 and Soleure 1597. The same type of watermark is found in a drawing by Matham (inv. no. H 5) and a drawing by De Gheyn's (inv. no. H 259).
