Searching for the (best) hidden book
Over the next four weeks, our librarian will take interested visitors on an excursion through the Depot of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen. During this tour we will search for the best hidden book in our museum library. The route first stops at 'Research on track - Van Gogh's Poplars'. This exhibition showcases two books from the museum's collection, one of which is a beautiful copy of 'Alle wercken, so oude als nieuwe,' by Jacob Cats - signed, and fitted with luxurious, silver mounts.
Next, the route leads us up to the exhibition 'Beyond Surrealism', in which a display case holds a few of the most beautiful surrealistic publications from the early 20th century.
Finally, we descend to a mysterious painting in which a book is depicted, but is that the book we are looking for...?
