Visit the Depot during the holidays

The Depot has different opening hours during the holidays . We will be closed on Sunday 25 December and Sunday 1 January, but open on Monday 26 December and Monday 2 January. On 31 December the Depot will close at 16:00 hrs.

There's still plenty to see and do in the Depot during the holidays. You can take part in lots of different activities or visit one of our special presentations.

Drop -in workshop during the holidays

From Monday, take part in the Family of Objects drop-in workshop as part of the Family of Objects project. This is a two-and-a-half-year research programme at the Depot, examining the collection in terms of familial relationships in collaboration with the public.

Visit a Depot space

Sign up at the entrance desk for a free guided tour with other visitors to discover the different workspaces in the Depot. Get closer to the artworks and learn more about the building, its management, and the conservation of our collection. Tours last 30 minutes and are subject to availability.

Group tours

Private group tours can be booked for a visit to the different workspaces in the Depot. Get closer to the artworks and learn more about the building, its management, and the conservation of our collection. One-hour group tours are available in Dutch, English, German or French for a maximum of 13 people.

Unpacking Boijmans

This active research project examines the relationship between the museum's collection and its stories of slavery and colonialism. We also invite visitors to think along with us – what would you like to know about our history? Do you have any questions, suggestions or insights you'd like to share with us?

Highlights from the museum collection

The Depot is a working building that allows visitors to follow the planning of future presentations. Since 7 April, highlights from the museum collection have been on display as part of a trial set-up for a comprehensive presentation in 2023.

New: Piranesi on paper

Our research on Piranesi is part of a wider study of more than 89,000 works on paper. Paper is the largest portion of the museum's collection, but further research is needed to make it comprehensible to researchers and the public.

Restaurant Renilde

Restaurant Renilde is closed on Sunday 25 December and Sunday 1 January. The restaurant will be open on Monday 26 December and Monday 2 January during opening hours of the Depot.

On Saturday night 24 December, Renilde will serve a sparkling seven-course menu including a wine or non-alcoholic drink pairing. The all-in price for this evening is €170 per person, and reservations can be made for up to 8 people by emailing renilde@boijmans.nl.
