More information

Lotti van der Gaag came into contact with members of the Cobra group such as Karel Appel and Corneille only in 1950 when they moved to Paris, where she had been living for some time. Although she did not participate in the group’s exhibitions, her work bears comparison with theirs in her sculpted mask-like figures and strange animals and in her rough use of materials, as in this ‘Bird of Prey’.
