Frans Greenwood was the first engraver to stipple a complete scene on glasses. There are 43 extant glasses signed by him, of which the museum owns three. This glass is one of his masterpieces. This illustration is taken from a painting - 'The Shepherdess' - by Paulus Moreelse. The glass is signed and dated: F. Greenwood fect Dort Ao 1748.
