More information

This stained glass window, by Johan Thorn Prikker, uses moody coloured flat glass with grisaille. It shows Christ carrying the cross. His head, which leans against the cross-beam, is central to the composition. Much attention is also given to the large hand holding the cross. The window was donated to mark the opening of the new Museum Boymans in 1935. The window was probably produced by August Wagner of the Vereinigte Werkstatten Puhl, Wagner und Heinersdorf in Berlin.
