Cor Alons founded a design agency in 1923 together with his fellow designer Frits Spanjaard. This was the start of interior design as a separate discipline in the Netherlands. Alons did not only design furniture but also gave them a fixed position in an area designed by himself. Cor Alons was particularly concerned with furniture constructions and this can be seen in this set of children's furniture, which closely reflects the idiom of the Style movement.
