More information

Le Sidaner made his first nocturnal cityscape around 1900. In this work, painted more than thirty years later, he still depicted windows in dark purple facades in the same Post Impressionist style. His subject matter distinguishes him from the Impressionists, who seldom painted evening or night time scenes.
