B home

The coronavirus is having a major impact on our lives, work and leisure time. We must stay at home for now. With B home, Boijmans brings the collection to you at home plus all kinds of online activities.

Until the coronavirus lockdown came into effect, Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen was showing its collection in school classes, at neighbouring arts venues in Rotterdam and at museums abroad. Now that we must all stay at home and the collection has not been visible for some time, we are experimenting with ways of keeping the collection visible and keeping in touch with our visitors online. Dive into the collection for your daily dose of art and inspiration or discover your inner artist with a wide range of online activities for young and old. Every week on Facebook we are holding Live Question Time, when curators and other museum staff will discuss artworks and answer your questions live. We have made colouring sheets of highlights from the collection and fun museum assignments for kids to do at home with experienced museum docents. We would love to see everyone’s artworks, so share them with us via bhome@boijmans.nl or on Instagram with the hashtag #homeboij

Colouring the collection

Colouring the collection

We have made colouring sheets of several masterpieces from the collection. Try your hand at the precision detailing of ‘The Tower of Babel’ by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, the geometric primary colours of Piet Mondrian’s ‘Composition II’ from 1929, or take a closer look at ‘The Pedlar’ by Hieronymus Bosch. We would love to see your painting skills, so please share your pictures with us via bhome@boijmans.nl or on Instagram with the hashtag #homeboij
