This tall beaker glass, with optical relief, stands on three small feet. With exceptional precision and much flair, Willem van Heemskerk used a diamond stylus to engrave in a florid handwriting the motto 'Dank God in alles' [Thank God in everything]. He signed and dated the piece on the edge of the foot.
