Ask anything

  • Isabel Matthaeus asked

    Dear Sir or Madame,
I am conducting research on a coffee pot in Rijksmuseum which is identical to the one in your collection. I was wondering if you had any information about who might have owned it before? I am trying to figure out for whom this series of porcelain coffee pots might have been commissioned for from China.

Thank you in advance for your help,
    Best wishes,
    Isabel Matthaeus

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

    Dear Isabel,
The only known owner of this coffee pot is J.P. van der Schilden. He donated the pot to the museum in 1921. This information can also be found on our website the Collection Boijmans Online. I wish you the best of luck with your research!
    Kind regards,
    Jephta
