Ask anything

  • Tony Schöndorfer asked

    Hello
As a hobby-recreator of medieval tableware i'm highly interested in this type of candelier.
Would it be possible to get some pictures directly from the front and side, an maybe of some details? An information about the material-thickness of the foot would be really helpful.
    Thanks in advance
    Best regards
    Tony Schöndorfer

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

    Dear Tony,
Unfortunately there are no other pictures available from this candlestick. However, I can give you a more detailed description. The candlestick has a round, profiled base which is also serves as a drip tray. The middel part is a round shaft decorated with three buttons, the shaft ends in a point. Above the top button is a small screw thread for a double candle holder, which rests on the button. This type of candlestick 'with two pipes' was later called the three-kings candlestick.
For requests regarding images you can send an email to images@boijmans.nl.
I hope this answers your questions.
    Kind regards, Sofie
