Ask anything

  • Viktoria Pomazi-Horvath asked

    Hello!
I would like to ask whether you have information about the makers' mark on the blade? Or do you have any publications about makers' mark on knives found in the Netherlands? It would be very nice to compare them to ones found in Hungary, which is my research topic. Thank you!

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Viktoria, thank you for your interest in maker's marks. Unfortunately our curator does not have specific information about this blade, but she asked me to send you a pdf with an article by Hans Jansen, the former city archaeologist of Den Bosch. He writes about knives with maker's marks depicted by Hieronymus Bosch. I hope this article will be helpful for your research. Kind regards, Els
