In Marc Ruygrok's 'Table' the recognizability of the objects is suppressed. It is the interplay of forms, colour and reflected light that fascinates us in the first instance and only later do we notice that the sculpture as a whole is composed of objets trouvés: two Indonesian woks, one placed inside the other, the iron armature of a neon letter, a copper stove plate and wood that has already been used before. In his choice of objets trouvés Ruygrok let himself be guided by their formal qualities. In his sculpture the ordinary significance is hidden behind meaningful form and the functionality makes way for poetry.
