    Hello!
I found this salt shaker would like to get more information about it. If you can tell me the condition and the price would greatly appreciated!!!

    Best,
    Thuy

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Thuy, this salt shaker is an archeological found. It may have been in one of the Rotterdam houses that was destroyed by the bombing raid at the beginning of the Second World War. There is a tiny crack at the brim, just under the holes, and also at the bottom of the shaker. Moreover the glaze which protects the white earthenware has some yellow stains. I cannot tell you anything about the price since we are a museum and do not sell object. If you want to know, please ask a specialized art dealer or auction house. Good luck! Els
