More information

Walter Crane's book 'The Claims of Decorative Arts' (1892) was highly influential in the reform of decorative arts in the Netherlands. But his own work was less well known here. This damask tablecloth is a mix of the Neo-Gothic and the style of the Pre-Raphaelite painters and was exhibited in 1893 at the Arts & Crafts Exhibition in London.
