Ask anything

  • Jo Lauria asked

On American ceramic objects, do you record/document the artist's marks? I do not see any images of the signatures of the pieces when I research Ruth Duckworth ceramics. Please advise.

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Jo, thank you for your interest in Duckworth's ceramics. I have checked our database and it contains 15 records. None of them has a photo of the signature /artist's stamp, but three if them have a description:
    A 6221 a-b (KN&V): signature = 28686 R
    A 6234 (KN&V): signature = a circle with an R
    A 6243 (KN&V): signature = 7 R 9
I hope this information helps you a bit. With kind regards, Els
