    Hello!

I am currently working on an university assignment and chose this drinking jug as my artefact. I saw it on display in Rotterdam during the special exhibition under the term "Influence" and this mug, as well as another one, are both from Congo. Is there any more information known as to whether these specific ones have been used as minkisi or if they served a different purpose? I was also wondering if you know if the design elements of the mug represent anything in particular? Lastly, I was wondering if you any information on how and where it was purchased (if this is private information I understand!)?

I would be very grateful if I could acquire more information. Thank you in advance.

    Warm regards,
    Jacky

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Hi Jacky, Alexandra van Dongen, our curator pre-industrial design, knows everything about the jug. She will contact you about your questions. Good luck with the assignment! Els
