  Interessante vraag! Ik ben in onze archieven gedoken en heb de volgende handgeschreven instructie van Richard Long gevonden met daarbij een getekende illustratie van zijn Slare Circle: "First, the perimeter is lightly drawn in pencil on the ground. The stones are placed one by one in a haphazard pattern throughout the sculpture. Each stone has at least one flat, sawn edge, and every stone is placed lengthwise on this side, not touching another stone. If a stone has two flat sides place it on the widest one. The stones are chosen at random. There is an even density of stones throughout the sculpture, and an even distribution of sizes amongst the stones. NB. This drawing shows procedure only; it cannot itself be "copied"." Met deze instructie kunnen medewerkers van het museum de cirkel dus zelf opnieuw installeren, maar dat zal elke keer op een nieuwe manier gebeuren.
