Ask anything

  • Kim Coakley asked

Hi how much does it cost to buy this picture?

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Kim, Boijmans Van Beuningen is a museum and we do not sell artworks. If you want to buy a piece by Rineke Dijkstra you should contact one of the galleries that represent her work like Marian Goodman in New York or Max Hetzler in Berlin. For an older work you should contact an (online) auction house. I hope this information is helpful. Kind regards, Els

More information

In 1992 Rineke Dijkstra began making a series of photographs in which she asked teenagers to pose for her camera but gave them no instructions. As a follow-up to this series, she visited the Buzz club in Liverpool in 1997 and asked teenage clubbers to pose briefly before a video camera in a neutral environment. The result is an impressive series of portraits of teenagers who wrestle with the correct pose for that time and place and one that will project their carefully constructed identity.
