More information

The photo series 'Thank you mister Thighmaster' is something of an 'ode' to all home-trainers, with nude models without nipples in awkward body poses. The work of the Dutch photographer Inez van Lamsweerde deals with the boundary between the artificial world of fashion, advertising and television and the everyday reality in which we live. Van Lamsweerde has this to say about it: 'the images of the sort of super life that is suggested by fashion and television are firmly implanted in my head. I place my own reality next to this by using these images extremely enlarged in my photos, but then with an unexpected twist. For example, a beautiful, perfectly dressed, elegant woman who licks the floor. That nod, that makes them shocking.'
