    Dear Nikita, here's some information on this painting, which I have also placed online now: The woman probably represents one of the Fates, who holds the thread of life. The woman on the left points to a jewel box with an armband and a string of pearls, an attribute of Venus. On her back she wears a mask, a symbol of deceit. The donkey refers to stupidity and is sometimes associated with Venus, but the connection is unclear. All the best, Rianne
