This is the left half of a diptych. It is a rectangular panel painted black with reproductions in various techniques of works by JCJ Vanderheyden himself, Mondriaan’s Broadway Boogie Woogie and a piece of Hunters in the Snow by Pieter Bruegel. Close up, the works are recognisable; from a distance or through squinted eyes, the reproductions form an irregular pattern of blocks, somewhat coarser and more irregular, but corresponding with the distorted chess board pattern on the trapezium-shaped panel on the right.
