More information

Everywhere in Noble's work we encounter geometric structures, grids, frames, fences and gates. Although natural sources are implicit in these nobrock constructions, it is clear that nature has been largely supplanted by a cultivated, man-made landscape. There is an entire family of gates (Mr, Mrs, Mr & Mrs, Mr & Mr, Mrs & Mrs and Master Gate) to maintain order: gatekeepers that can grant access but also deny it. However, what lies behind the gates cannot be determined with any certainty.
