Pyuupiru’s career began by wearing extravagant costumes to nightclubs. Questions around gender identity and the creation of an ideal self is central to her work. The 'Planetaria Series' consists of nine costumes, each of which represents a planet in our solar system. Pyuupiru puts the costumes on, giving each of them its own identity and creating nine re-interpretations of herself as a person. Pyuupiru works as a make-up artist, model, photographer, filmmaker and performance artist.
