In the installation ‘Copy Right’, the Danish artist collective Superflex arranges fifty-six chairs in a minimalist ‘grid’. The chairs are reproductions of the functional design by the Danish architect Arne Jacobsen dating from 1953. Each chair is processed by hand and in this way Superflex turns a mass-produced design classic into unique items. Superflex has been designing so-called ‘Counter economic strategies’ since 1994. With installations, actions or projects, the collective offers playful, but also very critical artistic solutions to social issues.
