    Hallo Benito, Dank voor je vraag, die ik heb voorgelegd aan Alexandra van Dongen, onze conservator preïndustriële vormgeving. Zij schrijft het volgende:
    "Deze tegel wordt toegeschreven aan het Antwerpse majolica-atelier Den Salm dat in het midden van de 16de eeuw geleid werd door majolicabakker Franchois Frans. Hij trouwde in 1543 met Anna van Dueren, weduwe van de bekende Antwerpse plateelbakker Guido Andries. Samen met haar zette hij het belangrijkste Antwerpse atelier De Salm voort, waar dergelijke tegeltableaus hun specialiteit werden.
    In het geval van onze tegel zal de tegelschilder gebruik hebben gemaakt van prenten naar ontwerpen van bepaalde kunstenaars, zoals Maarten van Heemskerck. De bron voor onze tegel is nog niet onderzocht."
