More information

The early work of the English designer Ron Arad was just as rough and raw as the punk movement which inspired it. With this design in unfinished concrete and reinforcing steel, Arad reacted against the slick, functional box design of most audio equipment. His forged furniture of rough plate metal also reflected the aesthetics of the rough English underground of the 1980s. Today, collectors pay enormous amounts for his sculptural furniture in highly polished aluminium.
