One of the highlights is, of course, Wim T. Schippers’ famous Peanut Butter Platform. You can also delve into the fascinating world of digital art in the Pixel Pioneers exhibition. This exhibition shows how artists experiment with technology and how the pixel has shaped our visual culture.
Particularly special is the interactive artwork Horizons (2008) by the Rotterdam-based artist Geert Mul. As you move through the space, the landscape on the screen changes constantly. The artwork is composed of more than two hundred horizon images from the museum collection and reacts directly to visitors. As a result, no two images are ever the same.
For children who like to get creative, there’s the education studio. There, they discover the connection between art and technology through play. The result? A surprising musical artwork of their own creation.
