New exhibition in progress
We’re hard at work on our new exhibition, Pixels Pioneers. From April 16 to 24, Galleries 2 and 3 on the fourth and fifth floors of the building will be temporarily closed to the public.
But there’s good news: in the Depot, you can still take a peek behind the scenes and watch our colleagues at work. You can also enjoy the exhibition Diary of Things, where artworks tell their own stories—sometimes full of tranquility, sometimes full of change—from before they arrived in Rotterdam. In Research on the Rails, you can admire the beautifully restored Populierenlaan by Van Gogh. It’s also possible to visit a compartment (art storage space).
Want to make your visit even more enjoyable and personal? Use the free Depot app. With this app, you can discover the stories behind thousands of artworks: scan the QR codes on display cases and storage units, explore interactive visual stories with photos, videos, audio, and thought-provoking questions, and find all the basic information right on your phone. You can also save your favorite works to your own collection and use handy floor plans and an overview of activities in the Depot.
In short: there may be a little less to see than usual, but certainly no less to experience.
