Marisol: a new exhibition in the making

We are working hard on the preparations for our new exhibition, Marisol. Until Thursday 8 October, Galleries 1, 2 and 3 on the third, fourth and fifth floors of the Depot are temporarily closed to visitors. But there's good news: you can still get a glimpse behind the scenes and see our colleagues live at work.

A restored Van Gogh

You can also enjoy a small presentation, 'Research on Rails', at the restoration studios. Here you can see Van Gogh's beautifully restored Avenue of Poplars near Nuenen. It is also possible to visit a compartment (art storage space).

Special exhibitions

The Depot also features special exhibitions by art collectors and companies, who have each set up their own compartment here. For example, Lakeside Collection is currently showing the new video installation Family of None by artist Pip Greenaway. Moveo Art Collection is presenting impressive work by Willem van Veldhuizen. Finally, Rabobank is hosting the exhibition Zoute tranen, een blote wand en een ludieke noodknop (Salty Tears, a Bare Wall and a Playful Panic Button), featuring work by artists including Mark Manders, Ai Ozaki and Koos Buster.

Depot app

Want to make your visit even more enjoyable and personal? Then use the free Depot app. With this app you can discover the stories behind the artworks: scan the QR codes on display cases and storage compartments, explore interactive picture stories full of photos, video, audio and thought-provoking questions, and find all the essential information right on your phone. You can also save your favourite works to your own collection and make use of handy floor plans and an overview of activities in the Depot.

All in all: there may be slightly less to see than usual, but certainly no less to experience.
