Her mirror installations, in particular, became iconic works of art. Anyone who stepped into such a space was invited to look at the world differently and to feel part of a work of art that seemed to go on forever.
A notable example of this is Infinity Mirror Room – Phalli’s Field (Floor Show) from 1965, a work that we were able to add to our collection in 2010. This piece brings together many of Kusama’s signature elements: mirrors, ‘dots’ and ‘infinity nets’, and the concept of infinity. Right up until her later years, Kusama continued to create new work with tireless energy.
Through her art, she touched the hearts of people all over the world and brought them together. Our thoughts are with her family, friends and everyone who was dear to her.
