Childeren up to the age of 18 can visit the Depot for free.

Welcome in the new education studio

Our brand-new education studio has recently opened. Here, you will discover how the museum keeps its thousands of artworks in top condition in a fun and interactive way and which professions are essential to this process. In the DIY Depot, you will get hands-on: look, listen, feel and try things out. Dress up as a work of art, become a painting restorer or listen to the stories of our treasure keepers behind the scenes. Everyone aged 4 to 99 can join in and dive into the hidden world of the museum.

Experience the world of digital art and create your own musical artwork

Experience the world of digital art in the exhibition Pixel Pioneers. Geert Mul’s artwork Horizons (2008) reacts to your movements, causing the landscape to constantly change before your eyes. Discover more about art and technology in a playful way during one of the workshops in the education studio and create your very own musical artwork!

Pixel Pioneers opens on Saturday 25 April at the Depot. The workshops are available from Saturday 25 April to Sunday 10 May, from 12:00 to 16:00. The Depot is closed on Mondays.

Visit on of the art compartiments or follow the family tour

During your visit to the Depot you can access one of the art compartiments with a guide. An art compartiment is a specially climate-controlled space where artworks are organized by material and maintained under specific environmental conditions. Want to explore on your own? Follow the family tour, which includes fun facts and activities. On each floor, scan the QR code with the Depot app to get a unique behind-the-scenes look at the museum.
