J.S.H. Bröcker Fund
Jan Bröcker (1922–2020) was an internist in Rotterdam, a lover of early music and art, and a long-time Friend of the museum. The fund was established in 2021 after the museum, together with another cultural institution in Rotterdam, was named as a beneficiary in his estate.
The fund is intended for scientific research, restorations, and projects related to the (condition of the) collection. Thanks in part to this fund, it was possible to finance the appointment of researcher and art historian Bram Donders, whose research focuses on female artists and donors within the museum’s collection. The fund also made it possible to translate the online collection catalog Piranesi on Paper into English, thereby making it accessible to an international audience.
