Watermark Strasburg lily in a crowned shield, with housemark WR beneath (113x65mm, on P3-4 from the left)(vH, 18P, fine, cropped plano), similar to Briquet 7210 (as such: various places in Holland and Germany 1585-1598, Strasbourg 1590-1669, initials WR for Wendelin Riehel, Strasbourg, but copied also by Honig in the 18th c.), countermark IHS surmounted by a cross (32x43mm, on P15-16), not found combined with the Lily watermark in Briquet; with the lily watermark similar to Heawood 424 (doc. 1702) and 427 (doc. 1645) [for images click thumbnails above the 'zoom in'option]

Dit landschap met koeien, herders en een ruiter is een kopie naar een tekening van Jan Brueghel de Oude in Manchester.1 Een vergelijking met de tekening in Rotterdam doet vermoeden dat de tekening in Manchester aan drie kanten, namelijk de boven-, linker- en rechterzijde, bijgesneden is.2 De middelste, op de rug getekende koe, komt ook voor op een Landschap met wagens van Jan Brueghel de Oude in Berlijn.3
