  • Helen Shiner asked

    Dear Boijmans van Beuningen
After many years research, I am compiling a catalogue raisonné of the sculpture and prints of Moissey (Moisej) Kogan. I am also collecting information about his drawings and works in other media for a future project. I note that you have four works by Kogan, two sculptures and two drawings. I would be grateful if you could let me know whether you have any correspondence associated with the acquisition of these four works.
There are many forgeries of Kogan's work, so your collection is important in that it was acquired during Kogan's lifetime.
The project website can be found at moisseykogancr.org
Thank you, yours sincerely, Helen Shiner, director/editor

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

Dear Helen, thank you for your email. I have checked it in our registration system and all works have been acquired before the war, except a folder with 12 woodcuts. This folder is bought in 1967. I will send you a list with all details by separate email. Kind regards, Els
