More information

Dürer borrowed some motifs in this print from the work of the Italian artists Mantegna and Pollaiuolo. The scene has been interpreted
as ‘Hercules at the Crossroads’, when Hercules had to choose between vice and virtue, but it is impossible to say for sure who is
actually depicted here.
