  Dear IIaria, ‘Insicuro noncurante’, or ‘uncertainly carefree’, can be read here in ‘secret writing’. In Boetti’s ballpoint pen drawings the white commas correspond to the alphabet on the left-hand side. Boetti often leaves the execution of his work to others. For his ballpoint pen drawings he approaches friends and acquaintances, with a man filling in one area and a woman the other by patiently hatching with a ballpoint. The handwriting becomes ornamental; the dancing commas look like a music score. Best, Lisa
