  • Santino asked

una pregunta Como Podria Describir la obra de Antonio Segui La Caida De Carlos Morales 1964?

  • Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen answered

    Dear Claudio,

Carlos Morales, the person referred to in the title of this artwork, has not been identified by the museum. However, Segui's early work, of which this painting is an example, is characterised by gloomyness. His dark style and subject matter might have resulted from the political tension in his native country Argentina at the time. Therefore, it is possible this painting refers to a political figure. But the painting is multi interpretable. What are your thoughts about this painting?

    Kind regards,
    Jephta
